The Opportunity
An established Australian business within the premium agriculture sector is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Brisbane-based finance team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to an Accountant who enjoys taking ownership of month-end while gaining exposure across reporting, cashflow, budgeting and commercial analysis.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking an active role in month-end, including general ledger reconciliations, accruals, inventory and fixed assets.
- Preparing BAS, maintaining cashflow forecasts and supporting foreign currency transactions.
- Overseeing accounts payable and supporting receivables as required.
- Supporting KPI, executive and Board reporting.
- Assisting with budgeting, year-end reporting, audit and FBT requirements.
- Analysing financial performance across revenue, costs, quantities and trends.
- Supporting the Financial Controller and CFO with ad hoc analysis and improvement initiatives.
About You
You may be an experienced Accountant ready to step up or a Financial Accountant looking for broader commercial exposure.
You will ideally bring:
- CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completion.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working across accounting systems.
- Exposure to budgeting, year-end or audit processes.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- A practical, collaborative approach and willingness to get involved across the broader finance function.
