Civmec’s Gladstone Maintenance division delivers specialist fabrication, welding, and maintenance services to industrial clients from our Gladstone workshop in Queensland, supporting continued operational growth across the region.
This role seeks a skilled Special Class Welder join our Gladstone workshop team to deliver high-quality welding on fabrication and maintenance projects to Australian Standards. Full time position with continuity of work.
Rates:
- $49.02 per hour + penalties + flat allowances day shift
The Role
- Apply welding techniques including FCAW, GTAW, and GMAW (STT)
- Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings and specifications
- Mark out steel components in accordance with drawings and standards
- Comply with company Quality Control systems and processes
- Conduct visual inspection of welds between runs and at completion
- Complete 6G weld tests to demonstrate welding competency
- Operate workshop overhead crane safely and efficiently
- Maintain consumables and welding equipment to standard
- Ensure compliance with current Australian Welding Standards
- Support a small team environment with attention to detail
- Provide quality workmanship across all fabrication tasks
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop work area
About You
- Ability to pass 6G FCAW/GMAW (STT), GTAW
- Construction White Card
- LF & DG highly regarded
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Medical and regular / random Drug and Alcohol screens
- Willingness to upskill and learn how to operate specialised machinery
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Excellent time keeping
- Good attitude and ability to work within our team
