We’re looking for an experienced qualified Baker / Bakery Production Manager to lead the production operation of a busy and well-established bakery on Rottnest Island.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows their way around a bakery, enjoys leading a team and takes pride in producing quality product at pace.

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day production operation, while still being close to the product and the team. From production planning and quality through to stock, wastage and food safety, you’ll play a key role in keeping the bakery running smoothly.

And yes... you’ll get to live and work on Rottnest Island!

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and develop the bakery production team.
• Plan and coordinate daily production and workflow.
• Ensure products are consistently produced to a high standard.
• Be hands-on in the bakery and lead from the front.
• Manage production around customer demand and seasonal trade.
• Manage stock, ordering and wastage.
• Monitor production efficiency, labour and productivity.
• Train, coach and develop team members.
• Maintain high standards across food safety, hygiene and workplace safety.
• Identify opportunities to improve production, quality and efficiency.
• Work closely with the broader bakery team to ensure production meets retail demand.

What we’re looking for We’re keen to hear from qualified Bakers who are ready to step into a leadership role, as well as experienced Bakery Managers, Senior Bakers or Production Managers.

You’ll ideally have:

• A recognised Baking trade qualification or strong equivalent bakery experience.
• Experience working in a busy, high-volume bakery.
• Strong knowledge of bakery production processes and workflow.
• Experience leading, training or developing a bakery team.
• A hands-on approach and genuine pride in product quality.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• An understanding of stock, wastage and production planning.
• Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• A positive, practical approach and the confidence to make decisions.
• The ability to work well under pressure and keep production moving.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who loves baking, enjoys leading people and takes pride in doing things well.
