ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable, physically capable Book Merchandiser to service Big W stores within an allocated Sydney territory. You ll unpack, replenish, and merchandise book stock on the shop floor in line with retailer guidelines, working independently across multiple stores on a scheduled basis and liaising professionally with store staff.
Previous merchandising or book industry experience is highly regarded.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service allocated Big W stores according to an agreed call cycle
Locate stock in dock areas, reserves, cages and unopened cartons
Unpack cartons (up to 16kg) and merchandise stock onto the shop floor
Represent the company professionally and comply with store policies
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This physically demanding role requires the ability to lift and carry cartons up to 16kg, bend/crouch/kneel/reach for shelving at all heights, stand and walk for extended periods, and safely navigate busy retail environments.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Own reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle and current driver s licence (kilometre allowance paid)
Ability to travel between stores within the allocated territory
Flexible availability within a 24-hour weekly roster
Physical fitness to meet manual handling requirements
Reliable, punctual, and able to work autonomously
DESIRABLE
Merchandising, retail, or FMCG stock replenishment experience
Familiarity with DDS environments (Big W, Kmart, Target)
Basic knowledge of book categories/genres
REMUNERATION & CONDITIONS
Hours: 24 hours per week
Pay Rate: [Insert hourly rate] in line with [Award/Agreement]
