Appliance Repair Technician

Job description

An established and growing appliance repair business is seeking experienced Domestic Appliance Repair Technicians to join its service team in Adelaide.

The business provides repair, servicing and installation services for a broad range of major domestic appliance brands. This role is suited to a capable technician who can diagnose faults accurately, complete repairs efficiently and provide a professional service to customers in their homes.

Appliance Experience

Applicants should have practical experience servicing and repairing a range of domestic appliances, including:

• Refrigerators and freezers
• Electric ovens
• Electric, ceramic and induction cooktops
• Rangehoods
• Dishwashers
• Front-load and top-load washing machines
• Tumble, condenser and heat-pump dryers
• Washer-dryer combination units

Experience across multiple appliance brands and models will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Attending scheduled service appointments at customers’ homes
• Inspecting appliances and accurately diagnosing electrical, electronic and mechanical faults
• Testing electrical and electronic components and circuits
• Reading wiring diagrams and using appropriate diagnostic equipment
• Completing appliance servicing and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Identifying defective components and arranging replacement parts
• Installing and reconnecting appliances where required
• Confirming the safe and correct operation of appliances following repair
• Maintaining accurate service records, diagnostic notes and parts information
• Explaining faults, repair options and completed work clearly to customers
• Maintaining a safe, clean and professional work environment

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

• A relevant formal qualification in appliance servicing, electronics, electrical engineering or a related technical field
• At least three years of hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing domestic appliances
• Strong electrical, electronic and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience using tools such as multimeters, clamp meters and manufacturer diagnostic systems
• The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals and technical information
• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical diagnostic approach
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship
• The ability to work independently and manage a daily field-service schedule
• The ability to work cooperatively as part of a service team
• A valid driver’s licence

Relevant electrical, refrigeration or gas licences and manufacturer training will be highly regarded but should be clearly identified in your application.
