Trades Assistants needed from 10 August for a short-term robotic storage installation project in Hume.
Your new company
Hays is partnering with a well-established organisation delivering a major automated warehouse storage installation project in Hume. Due to increased project demands, an experienced Trades Assistant is required for a short-term assignment supporting the installation of a robotic vertical storage system within a secure work environment.
Your new role
Working as part of an experienced installation team, you will assist with the assembly and installation of automated warehouse storage equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring confidence using a range of hand and power tools, working at heights, and operating a scissor lift.Key duties include:
- Assisting with the installation of robotic vertical storage systems
- Using impact drivers, circular saws, grinders and other hand tools
- Supporting tradespeople with assembly and fit-out tasks
- Following site safety procedures and project requirements
- Working at heights and from elevated work platforms
- Maintaining a clean and safe worksite
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am 3:00pm, with an expected project duration of 1214 working days.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or in a similar construction, mechanical or installation role
- Proven experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- White Card
- Asbestos Awareness certification
- Silica Awareness certification
- EWP (Scissor Lift) licence
- Working at Heights certification
- LF Forklift licence desirable but not essential
- Carpentry or Mechanical Fitter qualifications highly regarded but not mandatory
