Find your further with Ventia in our Rigs and Wells Services contract is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join their team.
The role is casual on going and based out of Toowoomba. You will do a handover day in office with your counterpart and then drive out to remote sites to support operations to deliver works safely and to a high standard. You will be responsible for assisting and mentoring crews, promoting safe and healthy work practices in a fast paced and dynamic environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards and risks and incident management where applicable. In return you will enjoy great work life balance with our 2 week on, 2 week off roster (15:13 roster).

About the Role
- Onsite safety oversight – implement and monitor the Health and Safety Management System to ensure compliance across operations (including audits, inspections, observations, toolboxes, prestarts etc.)
- Incident investigations – lead and conduct thorough investigations (ICAM) into any safety incidents to determine root cases and drive improvements
- Risk identification & mitigation – identify potential hazards and recommend practical solutions to mitigate risks
- Onsite mentoring – guild and support onsite crews in maintaining high safety standards and fostering a safety-first culture
- Flexibility – due to the nature of the work you will need to adapt to changing priorities and at times be called out to remote sites at short notice
Required Skills and Experience
We are open to reviewing applications from candidates of all backgrounds however you must have relevant qualifications and solid SHEQ Advisor experience preferably in a high-risk industry like oil and gas.
You are passionate about safety, enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment and have -
- Minimum of Cert IV WHS
- Current drivers licence
- Experience in incident investigations (ICAM or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of safety risk management and control processes
- High attention to detail with a can-do attitude and inquisitive mind
- Good interpersonal skills and a strong team player who is adaptable and flexible to changing circumstances
- Good computer skills and awareness / implementation of processes
- Confident communicator both written and verbal
