Senior Cost Manager - MEP

With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth across the data centre sector, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior MEP Cost Manager to strengthen its Melbourne team.

This is an opportunity to work on major data centre developments, collaborating with specialist consultants, contractors and clients to deliver cost-effective outcomes across complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic building services packages.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior MEP Cost Manager, you will take ownership of cost management across major data centre projects, providing specialist advice on building services costs from early design through to construction and completion.

You will work closely with project teams and key stakeholders to manage budgets, assess technical requirements and ensure costs are accurately forecast throughout the project lifecycle. Given the scale and complexity of data centre developments, your understanding of MEP services, equipment procurement and construction costs will be essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead cost planning and estimating for mechanical, electrical and hydraulic services packages.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets and estimates throughout the design and construction phases.
• Review design documentation to identify cost risks, discrepancies and opportunities for value engineering.
• Provide cost advice on major building services equipment, including HVAC, power distribution, generators, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure.

ABOUT YOU

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in MEP cost management within a consultancy or contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services, ideally across data centres or other technically complex facilities.
• Experience preparing cost plans, estimates and commercial reports for large-scale projects.
• Understanding of major building services systems, equipment procurement and associated construction costs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with clients and project stakeholders.
