About the Opportunity

Mall Medical Centre (MMC) is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to take on the role of Clinical Lead within our established multidisciplinary practice in Alice Springs.

This is an opportunity for a GP who enjoys practising medicine while also seeking the professional recognition, influence and standing of a senior clinical leadership position.

This is a clinical leadership role, not a practice management position. The successful applicant will be recognised as the practice’s senior clinical authority, providing guidance and professional leadership while maintaining a predominantly patient-facing role.

Day-to-day operational, staffing, financial and business management responsibilities remain with the Senior Company Consultant and Practice Manager.

An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated, recognising the successful applicant’s experience and leadership contribution. FTE and working arrangements are flexible, with no expectation of a full-time commitment.

The role

The Clinical Lead will be the senior clinical voice within Mall Medical Centre, with the autonomy and professional standing to influence patient care and clinical standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality general practice care with professional autonomy

  • Acting as a trusted senior clinical resource and mentor to fellow GPs, registrars and the broader clinical team

  • Providing clinical guidance on patient care, professional standards and clinical decision-making

  • Contributing to clinical governance, accreditation and quality improvement, with support from practice management

  • Having a meaningful voice in the future direction and development of clinical services
Clinical practice remains the primary focus, with leadership responsibilities proportionate to the agreed working arrangements.

About You

We are seeking an experienced, respected GP with sound clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Essential requirements:

  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration

  • Demonstrated general practice experience

  • An interest in supporting and mentoring colleagues

  • Previous formal leadership or management experience is not essential.

What We Offer:

  • Attractive remuneration reflecting clinical experience and leadership responsibilities

  • Flexible FTE, including part-time arrangements

  • Recognition and standing as the practice’s senior clinical leader

  • A predominantly clinical role with minimal administrative burden

  • Professional autonomy and genuine influence over clinical practice

  • Dedicated operational support from an established management team

  • A supportive multidisciplinary team and established patient base.

This is an opportunity to be recognised for your clinical expertise, influence the direction of the practice but most importantly continue doing what you enjoy, practising medicine.

NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer support and financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
