About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day production operations while ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
This role requires a strong leader who can hold people accountable, set clear expectations, and maintain a productive team culture from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily production activities and team performance.
- Allocate tasks, coordinate rotations and manage staff breaks.
- Train, coach and develop production team members.
- Ensure food safety, quality, GMP and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Monitor production performance, workflow and key operational KPIs.
- Complete and oversee production documentation and records.
- Work closely with Quality, Maintenance and Production departments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor.
- Maintain a safe workplace and ensure all incidents, hazards and near misses are reported.
- Support problem-solving and process improvement activities.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining product quality standards.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience leading and managing people in a production or manufacturing environment.
- The confidence to be firm, make decisions and hold team members accountable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience within food manufacturing or food production.
- Understanding of GMP, food safety and quality systems.
- Certificate III in Food Processing or similar industry qualifications.
Essential Requirements
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
- Must be currently residing in Australia.
- Available to work full-time
