About the Role

Nepean Hospital seeks a dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist to join its Triage and Assessment Centre (TAC), a purpose-built facility offering 24/7 emergency mental health care as an alternative to ED presentations.

Key responsibilities:

• Psychiatric assessment and brief interventions for individuals in crisis

• Supporting the Safe Assessment Unit (SAU) in the Emergency Department

• Collaborating with nurses, peer workers, and allied health professionals

• Contributing to service development, governance, and culturally safe practices

• Supervising junior staff and participating in education and training

Located in Building G at Nepean Hospital, TAC is a walk-in emergency diversion facility offering timely, person-centred care. Staffed by clinicians and peer workers, it also provides telehealth access.
