What we are looking for:

We are seeking two experienced and motivated supervisors to lead operational teams responsible for the maintenance, renewal and construction of critical water infrastructure across the Fraser Coast.

Working within the Water & Waste Services team, these roles are responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of work programs, and supporting the ongoing reliability of Council's water network and associated infrastructure. You will provide leadership, technical guidance and operational support while fostering a positive team culture, driving continuous improvement.

What your day will look like:

  • Lead and supervise field-based crews delivering water network and infrastructure works.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor operational work programs, resources and priorities.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Council standards and legislative requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to employees, contractors, stakeholders and customers.
  • Monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and assist with service-related issues and stakeholder communications.

What you’ll need for success:

  • Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in Plumbing, Civil Construction (Pipe Laying), Water Industry Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Valid Queensland Class C or CA Driver Licence.
  • General Construction Induction (White Card).
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising operational field-based teams.
  • Experience planning and coordinating work programs, resources and operational activities.
  • Knowledge of water infrastructure maintenance, construction or operational service delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety, risk management and quality requirements

What’s nice to have:

  • First Aid Certification.
  • Confined Space Entry Certification.
  • Asbestos Awareness Training.
  • Dogging Ticket
