Cyber & Operational Resilience Analyst – Sydney

About the role

We're looking for an Operational Resilience/Business Resilience Analyst who wants to work on real cyber and operational resilience challenges in a financial services environment where you’ll see the impact of your work up close.

We're strengthening our cyber response and operational resilience capability as the business continues to uplift maturity, run crisis simulations, and respond to tighter regulatory expectations. This role is a chance to be part of the team driving that uplift from the inside.

As an analyst in the team, you’ll help improve our Respond and Recover capabilities, identify uplift opportunities from near‑misses, support testing and business continuity activities, and see how decisions play out across systems, processes and controls in a regulated environment.

What you'll work on

• Support and develop cybersecurity and operational resilience controls, applying frameworks like CPS230 and NIST in real practice

• Identify business continuity risks and improvement opportunities

• Contribute to cybersecurity incident response readiness, business continuity planning and crisis simulations with senior stakeholders

• Support business units with their Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) — guiding teams through requirements, reviewing documentation and ensuring plans remain up to date

• Coach and empower stakeholders so they understand and own their continuity responsibilities

• Coordinate and support BCP testing cycles, tracking outcomes and driving improvements

• Maintain and enhance continuity artefacts, including playbooks, response procedures and dependency mapping

• Support uplift programs aligned to regulatory and business priorities

What you’ll bring

We're looking for a motivated and collaborative professional who brings a solid grounding in operational resilience, business continuity or cybersecurity, and wants to deepen their capability in a role with real visibility and responsibility.

Technical skills and experience

• A degree or relevant qualification in cyber, technology, risk or resilience

• 2–3+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, business continuity or operational resilience

• Experience contributing to continuous improvement or operational efficiency initiatives

• Exposure to frameworks such as NIST CSF, CPS230, CPS234, ISO 22301 and ISO 27001

• Interest in automation, AI or data‑led approaches to streamline controls, reporting and resilience planning

Soft skills & behaviours

• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills - able to guide, support and coach stakeholders through business continuity planning while empowering them to own their responsibilities

• Calm, practical and level‑headed under pressure

• Curious, analytical and detail‑oriented

• Collaborative, proactive and keen to develop in a changing environment

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Able to communicate technical and non‑technical topics clearly and simply to diverse stakeholders
