About the Facility
Roshana Lysterfield Aged Care is a 50-bed welcoming residential aged care home providing high-quality, person-centred care in a warm, inclusive and supportive environment. The home offers comfortable accommodation, communal living spaces, beautifully maintained gardens and outdoor areas designed to promote wellbeing, dignity and meaningful social connection for residents.
We are looking for Kitchen Hand/Cleaner to join our aged care team at Roshana Lysterfield Aged Care, in a Casual capacity.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand / Cleaner to join our aged care team. In this dual role, you will help maintain high standards of cleanliness across the facility while also supporting kitchen operations to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and well-presented meals.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, staying active, and being part of a supportive team that makes a real difference every day.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist with basic food preparation including washing, peeling, and plating
- Support meal service and ensure timely delivery of food to residents
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen, dining, and common areas
- Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces
- Follow food safety, infection control, and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with stock rotation and waste disposal
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and care teams to maintain a safe, homely environment
What You Will Bring
- Previous experience in cleaning or kitchen/hospitality roles (preferred but not essential)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management and attention to detail
- Physical capability to perform manual handling and cleaning tasks
- Positive, reliable, and team-focused attitude
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices (or willingness to learn)
- A National Police Clearance or NDIS Screening Check, or willingness to obtain this
