We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Estimator to join our Commercial and Growth team. Reporting to the Lead Estimator, you will play a key role in developing competitive bids, proposals and project opportunities that support Pacific Energy's continued growth.

About the Role

As an Estimator, you will prepare accurate and commercially competitive cost estimates for proposals and projects across Pacific Energy's diverse portfolio, including thermal power generation, solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors, you will play a key role in securing new opportunities and supporting the successful delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse plans, specifications, drawings and project documentation to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Identify labour, materials, equipment and time requirements for projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, availability and scope information.
  • Develop and maintain estimating tools, cost databases and pricing information.
  • Support the preparation and submission of tenders, EOIs and BAFOs.
  • Monitor submission schedules and ensure proposals are completed within required deadlines.
  • Prepare project budgets and cost assessments where required.
  • Maintain estimate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders through meetings, workshops and site assessments to support proposal development.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate.

About You

You are a commercially astute and detail-oriented professional with strong estimating and tendering experience. You enjoy building stakeholder relationships, solving complex challenges and delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience completing and submitting tenders, ideally within the electrical sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working on thermal power generation and solar PV projects.
  • Experience working on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects will be highly regarded.
  • Electrical Engineering qualification or Electrical Trade certification (desirable).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
