The Role+

We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician (Biochemist) to join our Cell Production team. This hands-on role is focused on operating, monitoring and improving large-scale cell culture production processes to deliver consistent, high-quality products.

Your Experience+

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Biochemistry or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in biotechnology, bioprocessing, fermentation, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals or another large-scale production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology and biological production processes.
  • Experience analysing scientific or production data and applying findings to improve process performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working within quality systems such as GMP, HACCP or ISO standards will be highly regarded.

What you'll do+

  • Operate, monitor and optimise large-scale cell culture manufacturing processes from cell thaw through to harvest.
  • Apply biochemical principles to assess cell growth, metabolism and production performance, identifying and resolving process deviations.
  • Analyse and record production data to ensure product quality, consistency and compliance with established procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Research & Development and Quality teams to support process optimisation, scale-up activities and implementation of new manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate batch records, technical documentation and standard operating procedures in accordance with quality management systems.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities comply with food safety, quality and workplace safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Success is+

  • In your first month you will have successfully integrated into Vow’s Production team. You’ll be confidently following established processes, learning the details of our large-scale cell culture operations, and running routine steps under guidance.
  • After 3 months you’ll be running production processes independently, spotting issues early, and taking ownership of troubleshooting day-to-day challenges. You’ll also begin identifying opportunities for small process improvements and contributing ideas to make operations smoother and more reliable.
  • By the end of your first year you’ll be a key contributor in scaling our production, owning parts of the process, and working closely with Engineering, R&D, and Quality teams to embed improvements into routine production. Your impact will be felt in both the consistency of output and the way new processes are brought online.
