About this position
A rewarding opportunity has become available within the City's Library Services team to provide leave coverage in the role of Library Officer.
In this role, you will assist customers with a range of library services, support the delivery of library programs and events, and contribute to the day-to-day operations of our libraries.
The City operates four libraries across Gosnells, Beckenham, Thornlie and Southern River, and the successful applicant may be rostered to work at any of these locations.
Library Services operates seven days a week, with evening and weekend shifts forming part of the roster.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you must have:
- Experience working in a library or customer service environment
- Confidence delivering library programs and activities for children and adults
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, teams and the wider community
- Strong customer service skills and technology skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
Essential requirements
- National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
