Job Description

We're looking for a Quality Coordinator to join our team in Ballarat on a max-term parental leave cover contract. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll play an important role in implementing and maintaining the site's Food Safety and Quality Management System, while partnering closely with our operational teams to strengthen quality practices and drive continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on quality role where you'll have the opportunity to influence how food safety and quality come to life across the site. You'll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and continuously improving food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, supporting programs, testing, traceability and mock recalls.
  • Supporting the ongoing requirements of BRCGS, RSPO, Halal, Kosher and customer standards.
  • Coordinating internal systems and GMP audits, identifying gaps and supporting corrective actions through to closure.
  • Driving food safety culture initiatives and coaching site teams on quality and food safety practices.
  • Proactively managing customer complaints, investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Supporting allergen management, non-conforming product processes and product quality activities.
  • Maintaining quality procedures, documentation and site records across Ballarat and West Footscray.

You'll bring practical food manufacturing quality experience and be comfortable working closely with operational teams to solve problems, improve systems and maintain high standards. To be successful, you'll have:

  • A relevant qualification in Food Technology, Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a quality role within food manufacturing.
  • Experience with HACCP and GFSI-recognised standards such as BRCGS, SQF or equivalent, including supporting or managing site certification audits.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP best practice.
  • The communication and influencing skills to build effective relationships across operations and other stakeholders.

If this role sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you.

We encourage applications from people of all ages, nationalities, abilities, and cultures – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTQI+ community and people living with disabilities.

Our recruitment process typically consists of a brief, prearranged telephone interview, followed by 1-2 face-to-face or virtual interviews. However, we want to get to know you in the best possible way so we're happy to adjust our recruitment process to support accessibility needs. Let us know your needs in providing a positive, barrier-free recruitment process via email to peopleandperformance@mauri.com.au
