- Oversee the service and aftersales operation of an automotive dealership.
- Lead a workshop of approximately five technicians and manage departmental performance.
- Provide hands-on leadership with a focus on workflow, productivity, and customer service.
An established automotive dealership in regional NSW is seeking an experienced Service Manager to take responsibility for its service and aftersales operation.
This is not a turnaround role. The department has solid processes in place across service, parts, warranty and claims, with an experienced team and further growth available as workshop capacity increases.
You will oversee the day-to-day performance of the service department, leading a workshop of approximately five technicians alongside the service reception function. Current repair order volumes are typically around 15–20+ per day, with the business looking to continue increasing throughput as additional technical resources come on board.
Working closely with senior dealership leadership, you will have the autonomy to manage workflow, productivity, customer service, team performance and departmental results. As part of a smaller regional operation, this is a hands-on leadership position where you will have direct visibility across the department rather than multiple layers of management.
At times you may support the front counter when volumes require it, although the longer-term plan is to expand the service advising team as workshop activity grows.
The role would suit an experienced automotive Service Manager looking for greater control and a lifestyle change, or a strong Assistant Service Manager or senior dealership service professional ready to take the next step.
Importantly, this is a Monday-to-Friday management role with no regular weekend hours, providing an attractive balance for somebody considering a move away from a larger metropolitan operation.
Remuneration is negotiable and will reflect the experience and capability of the successful candidate.
If you have dealership service management experience, understand workshop productivity and customer expectations, and enjoy leading a close-knit team, we would like to hear from you.
