About the opportunity
adaptbl is recruiting an experienced administrative lawyer with strong statutory interpretation skills for our Commonwealth Government client. The role will provide advice on complex legislative frameworks and government programs, identifying legislative risks and delivering practical legal advice to support program delivery, policy implementation and decision-making.
An initial labour hire contract until 23 December 2026 is on offer, with prospects of extension up to 6 months.

Duties
- Provide technical administrative law advice on complex agency programs
- Analyse and apply legislation to support program delivery, policy implementation and decision-making
- Advise internal clients on legislative requirements and compliance obligations with minimal supervision
- Manage matters across multiple legislative and regulatory frameworks, and adapt quickly to new subject areas
- Identifying legislative risks, obligations and operational impacts, and developing practical solutions to address them
Requisite skills/experience
- Strong statutory interpretation skills and experience in legislative development
- Ability to manage a broad range of matters concurrently and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent writing skills, including preparing internal legal advice, legal instruments and briefs
- Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills
- Strong attention to detail
