Heavy Diesel Fitter – Mining Equipment & Large Plant Rebuilds

CELOTTI WORKFORCE is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our client's workshop team based in Yatala, QLD, specialising in the repair, overhaul and rebuilding of large-scale mining plant and equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Diesel Fitter with experience working on heavy mining machinery, major component rebuilds and large-scale equipment overhauls. Offering a minimum of 50 hours per week, competitive hourly rates and additional overtime opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Carry out major repairs, rebuilds and overhauls of heavy mining plant and equipment.
• Strip, inspect, repair and reassemble large-scale machinery and mechanical components.
• Perform mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Rebuild and repair engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulic systems and other major components.
• Work across a range of heavy mining and earthmoving equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders and haul trucks.
• Identify mechanical defects and implement effective repair solutions.
• Complete rebuilds and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with workshop teams to ensure equipment is rebuilt efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

Our Ideal Candidates

• Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter with relevant Australian-recognised qualifications.
• Previous experience working on heavy mining equipment and large-scale machinery.
• Strong background in major component rebuilds, equipment overhauls and mechanical repairs.
• Experience stripping and rebuilding heavy plant equipment.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions and mechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with large mining equipment highly regarded.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
• Reliable, safety-focused and committed to quality workmanship.

What's On Offer

• $60–$65 per hour + penalty rates, depending on experience.
• Minimum 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
• Additional overtime available for those interested in working extra hours.
• Workshop-based position in Yatala, QLD.
