About the Position:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations across the pick and despatch teams at a high-volume distribution centre in Kewdale. Leading a team of approximately 30 employees, including a Team Leader, you will be responsible for driving operational performance, maintaining high safety and compliance standards, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced warehouse professional who can lead from the floor, develop their team and foster a culture of accountability. You will play a key role in monitoring operational KPIs, resolving customer issues, coordinating resources and implementing process improvements, including supporting the team through an upcoming ERP system implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of approximately 30 employees, including a Team Leader, across pick and despatch operations
- Oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring operational targets and service delivery KPIs are consistently achieved
- Monitor performance measures, including DIFOT, Days to Dispatch and Zero-Pick Rate, driving accountability and continuous improvement
- Champion a proactive, safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, safe work procedures and material handling equipment standards
- Conduct toolbox talks, support near-miss reporting and drive initiatives to improve safety performance
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
- Manage urgent and priority orders, balancing turnaround times with overall operational efficiency
- Ensure accuracy of warehouse output and work collaboratively with Finance and Customer Service to resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate rostering, workforce resourcing and performance management to meet operational requirements
- Collaborate with warehouse leadership and the Operations Manager to maintain efficient stock movement and information flow across the distribution centre
- Support system and process improvements, including the implementation of a new ERP system, providing guidance and training to team members as required
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a high-volume warehouse or distribution centre environment
- Proven ability to lead, coach and hold teams accountable for operational performance and KPIs
- Strong practical understanding of workplace health and safety legislation, risk management and operational compliance
- A hands-on approach to safety leadership, including toolbox talks, incident and near-miss reporting, and safe material handling practices
- Experience managing team performance, rostering, workforce planning and day-to-day operational priorities
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve customer complaints, identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Strong problem-solving, planning and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple business functions
- Experience supporting system implementations or significant process changes, with ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience highly regarded
- Experience with large-scale ERP/WMS platforms, such as HarmoniQ, will be advantageous
- A proactive, accountable leadership style, with the ability to drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment
