Job description

The Role

Agri Labour Australia is seeking a reliable Grain Handler to join a busy agriculture and grain handling operation in Ballarat, Victoria. Working in a practical, fast-paced site environment, you will support day-to-day grain receival, site cleanliness, inspections and general maintenance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is safety conscious, comfortable with physical work and able to contribute wherever needed across the site.

Key Responsibilities

You will help keep the grain handling site operating safely, efficiently and to required hygiene standards. Your duties will include supporting grain receival activities, inspections, cleaning and general site upkeep.

  • Clean the site and rake grain as required
  • Assist with bunker, silo and container inspections
  • Support grain receival, including tipping trucks at the pit
  • Maintain plant, equipment and general site cleanliness
  • Assist with equipment and site maintenance
  • Support grain hygiene and fumigation requirements
  • Maintain relevant site records, including grain hygiene, OH&S, silo, stock accounting and administration records
  • Follow all workplace health, safety and hygiene procedures

Your Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, warehousing, production or a similar hands-on environment is highly regarded
  • Comfortable undertaking physical and outdoor work
  • Strong attention to safety, cleanliness and grain hygiene requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual and willing to assist across a range of site duties
  • Basic record-keeping and administration skills
