Our client is a global leader in manufacturing solutions across sectors including power generation, oil and gas, waste water, metals, mining, infrastructure and transport.  Due to growth we are seeking an Electrical Design & Drafting Engineer to join their team and support their mining division.
 
Within this role you will be responsible for:

• Electrical engineering and design services to projects within required technical and quality standards, ensuring deadlines and budgets are achieved.
• Design of electrical, control and instrumentation solutions according to client specifications, statutory requirements and company quality standards.
• Support teams with mine tendering proposals by interpreting specifications, providing preliminary designs and assisting in costing.

 
The role:
 

• Carry out electrical design and drafting work in compliance with design solutions, standards and regulations, budget, schedule, scope and client specifications.
• Develop of electrical and instrumentation cable and instrument schedules, layout drawings, wiring schematics, instrument, equipment and IO lists, etc.
• Ensure EC&I system design takes into consideration all interfaces with other disciplines - mechanical, process and civil.
• Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders in relation to technical, budget and scheduling requirements.
• Maintain quality levels throughout the work with particular reference to drawings and associated technical documentation.
• Maintain project files up-to date with relevant information
• Ensure that scope changes are identified, submitted to client and approved.

 
What we're looking for:  
 
Essential

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to use E-Plan, AutoCAD Electrical, General AutoCAD for design work and drawing update including:
  • Creating and configuring new EPLAN projects in accordance with company standards.
  • Developing and maintaining EPLAN project templates, master data and symbol libraries.
  • Configuring and maintaining device databases, parts management databases, and manufacturer component libraries.
  • Produce PLC control panel schematics and power distribution drawings.
  • Produce automated reports including:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Cable schedule
    • I/O list
    • Termination schedule
• Design and/or maintenance experience with electrical installations in Australia
• Ability to define scope of electrical work/product
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

 
Desirable
 

• Working ability of AutoCAD (Panel general arrangement, trenching layout, control system architecture, etc.)
• PLC programming, SCADA configuration
• Electrical design for Hazardous area, especially on Coal mines.
• Experience working with ventilation system equipment
• Experience on Solidworks Electrical software
• Experience with designing and drafting of Low Voltage Switchboards single line diagrams and schematics.
