Job Description
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with accounting standards
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare statutory reporting, BAS, FBT and other compliance obligations as required
- Support the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes
- Analyse financial performance and provide insightful commentary on key variances and trends
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve financial controls and business performance
- Assist with external audits and liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and financial governance
- Mentor and support junior finance team members where required
- Contribute to ad hoc projects, system enhancements and business improvement initiatives
The Successful Applicant
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- CA or CPA qualified is essential
- 5+ years' experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar financial reporting position
- Previous experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG or a product-based environment is highly regarded
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian accounting standards
- Experience managing month-end reporting and statutory compliance requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
- Experience using SAP highly regarded but not essential
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
