Fund Accountant

The Opportunity
An established investment management business is looking to appoint a Fund Accountant to join its Melbourne team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established investment manager in a role offering broad exposure and genuine ownership across the fund accounting lifecycle. You will work within a collaborative environment, gain exposure to a growing area of the private markets sector and have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements across systems, reporting and processes.
  
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing fund accounting and periodic close processes.
• Preparing NAV and unit pricing calculations, investor allocations and distributions.
• Cash, investment and loan reconciliations.
• Accounting for loan investments, including interest, fees and provisions.
• Supporting financial statement preparation and investor reporting.
• Managing investor transactions including subscriptions, redemptions and distributions.
• Supporting BAS, tax calculations and other fund tax requirements.
• Liaising with auditors, tax advisers and external service providers.
• Working closely with investment and operations teams.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.

 
Skills and experience required

• CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards completion.
• 3+ years’ experience within fund accounting, or investment accounting.
• Experience across private credit, real estate debt or similar investment structures will be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of fund structures and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong stakeholder communication skills.
