Who will I work for?  
   Our client is a medium sized engineering firm that specialises in civil and structural design and project management. With a wide range of projects in the residential and industrial sectors, this firm offers a mix of office and site-based work environments.
   The firm also includes services across geotechnical engineering, environmental and project management, surveying and asset management. Our client works across varied projects and sectors, with a long-standing relationship with local government.
   They are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with relevant structural experience to be based in their Toowoomba office. (Where on site parking is offered!)
 
What will my role include?
 
Working closely with the principal structural engineer on all projects, you will also demonstrate your independence and leadership skills in this role. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating and executing design works on a range of projects;
  • Liaising with and leading a team of engineering/ drafting staff to achieve deliverables;
  • Independently sketching up layouts/ details; and
  • Coordinating internal resources and external consultants.

Who are we looking for?
 
The successful candidate will have ten or more years’ experience in a relevant structural engineering field. It is essential that you possess experience with SPACE GASS design software and knowledge of RAPT and REVIT is desirable.
   A detailed understanding of relevant standards for timber framing, concrete, brick/block and steelwork structures and their practical application to the building industry will be viewed favourably as well.
   Experience with structural design concepts applicable to low rise residential, commercial and industrial buildings is essential.
   Exceptional leadership and communication skills are also required to assist in dealings with team members, subcontractors, clients, consultants and other external parties.
