Charlie Bit Me is seeking a skilled, motivated Cook to join our fast-paced team. Enjoy a rare hospitality lifestyle with no weekends and no public holidays!
Business Overview:
We are a high-volume, Mexican-inspired cafe known for quality food and table service. Our vibrant atmosphere serves a loyal community of local residents and tradespeople.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in crafting premium Mexican-inspired dishes. This role requires a dedication to food safety and impeccable kitchen hygiene. Clear, consistent communication with the culinary team is essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a range of dishes as per the menu and customer requirements
- Assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in compliance with food safety standards
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience as a Cook
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
