The Opportunity
As a Boring Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of
machines designed to bore holes in metal, wood, and other materials. You'll work closely with
blueprints and schematics to ensure accuracy in drilling, boring, reaming, and milling tasks.
Your role will be critical to ensuring precision and quality in our production process, all while
adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate boring machines to drill, bore, ream, mill, or countersink metal and other materials.
- Set up and adjust machine controls to regulate speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cuts.
- Monitor machine operations, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience operating and maintaining boring machines or similar machinery.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and meeting production deadlines.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometres) to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to following safety protocols.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
