Workshop Supervisor / Production Team Leader

Location: Clontarf, QLD (planned relocation to Brendale in March 2027)

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Salary: Competitive salary package + super, negotiable based on experience

Hours: 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime as required, including occasional Saturdays

About the Role

Our client, an established commercial ductwork manufacturer, is seeking a confident, hands-on Workshop Supervisor / Production Team Leader to take ownership of their workshop operations.

The workshop produces ductwork for major commercial projects, ranging from smaller, varied orders through to large production runs.

We're looking for someone who can bring strong leadership, structure and accountability to an established team, ensuring work is organised, production targets are met and quality standards are consistently maintained.

This is a 100% workshop-based leadership role.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming work and continued business growth, this is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading from the front and making a genuine impact on day-to-day operations.

The Opportunity

  • Take ownership of daily workshop operations and production workflow
  • Lead, organise and supervise a small team of approximately four workshop employees
  • Set clear expectations, delegate tasks and provide clear direction and support to the workshop team
  • Monitor team performance and maintain production standards
  • Identify mistakes early and ensure work meets quality standards
  • Implement practical improvements to workshop processes and efficiency
  • Coordinate daily priorities to ensure production deadlines are met
  • Maintain a safe, organised and productive workshop environment

About You

We're looking for a strong, confident and assertive leader who is comfortable managing people, making decisions and having difficult conversations when required.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Proven experience supervising or leading a team in a workshop, manufacturing, production or assembly environment
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate, direct and hold employees accountable
  • A proactive, no-nonsense approach to managing performance and maintaining standards
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads
  • Confidence managing different personalities and resolving workplace challenges
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to identify problems, take initiative and drive improvements
  • Reliability, a strong work ethic and availability for early starts and occasional overtime

A trade qualification or previous ductwork experience is not essential. We're more interested in your ability to lead people, maintain accountability and keep a busy workshop operating efficiently.

What's on Offer

  • Permanent, full-time opportunity with an established and growing business
  • Competitive salary package, negotiable based on experience
  • Genuine ownership and responsibility for workshop operations
  • Opportunity to lead a small team and contribute ideas to continually improve workshop operations
  • Consistent Monday-to-Friday hours
  • Strong pipeline of upcoming projects
  • Currently based in Clontarf, with a planned move to Brendale in March 2027
  • Immediate start available, although we're happy to wait for the right person
