Kogan People Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-owned building company with a proud history spanning almost six decades in the Adelaide construction industry.
Our client operates across residential, commercial, and industrial/warehouse construction, managing projects from initial concept and design right through to completion, with complementary specialist divisions including prefabricated bathroom and kitchen solutions and its own building supplies distribution arm. This is a substantial, financially solid operation — a multi-million-dollar annual turnover, a sizeable in-house fleet of plant and equipment, a large operational facility, and a team of around 100 staff.
The Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Construction Tradeworker to join their team working across a strong and varied pipeline of civil construction and infrastructure works. The role combines practical plant operation and civil works with responsibility for pipe-laying, traffic control, site coordination, safety and quality.
Salary – negotiable in the range $80k to $90k per annum
Tenure – role is full time, and ongoing.
Location (Base) Edinburgh SA
Responsibilities:
- Operate plant and machinery safely and productively in accordance with site requirements and undertake routine daily cleaning and maintenance of plant.
- Lead and undertake pipe-laying works for stormwater and sanitation sewers, drains and water mains.
- Set up, manage and remove temporary traffic control arrangements as required for site works.
- Assist and coordinate site personnel and subcontractors associated with assigned works.
- Monitor the quality and progress of work performed and report relevant site activities.
- Coordinate materials, equipment and site requirements for assigned works.
- Implement and comply with workplace health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Implement and follow applicable Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Carry out associated civil construction duties using appropriate tools, equipment and plant to complete works safely and to the required standard.
What you'll need:
- A relevant Certificate III qualification or agreed equivalent, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Relevant practical experience in civil construction or infrastructure works
- Demonstrated experience in plant operation and civil construction activities, with strong knowledge of workplace safety requirements and safe work procedures
- Ability to work effectively with site personnel, subcontractors and supervisors
- Current driver's licence (own transport preferred), and all necessary tickets
- Physical fitness for manual, outdoor site work
