You'll be working with the R&D department for the Department of Defence (Defence Science Technology Group, DTSG) in Edinburgh.
DSTG is currently supporting research into guided weapons prototyping.
A normal day as a Laboratory technician includes:
- Undertake Explosive Ordnance processing activities including EO mixing and casting;
- Inert and energetic ingredient preparation;
- Maintaining laboratories and manufacturing equipment;
- Ensure compliance documentation required for the safe operation of laboratories is in place and current.
- Ensure compliance documentation required for the safe operation of the laboratory is in place and current including managing the risks of hazardous chemicals in the workplace
- Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and process documentation
