A leading Western Sydney Council is looking for a motivated Team Leader Parks to lead a dedicated team responsible for maintaining parks, reserves, sporting fields, and open spaces that the community enjoys every day.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you'll combine your parks and horticultural expertise with strong people management skills to deliver high-quality outcomes across Council's open space network.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, supervise, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Parks team. Plan and allocate tasks, labour, equipment, and resources to achieve service delivery targets. Mentor, train, and develop staff, including onboarding and coaching new team members. Match team members to tasks based on skills, abilities, and development goals. Conduct inspections of parks, reserves, and facilities to identify maintenance requirements and minimise risk. Coordinate and deliver programmed parks maintenance works within agreed timeframes and budgets. Promote safe work practices and maintain a strong safety culture across the team. Monitor productivity, resource utilisation, and operational costs to ensure efficient service delivery. Provide recommendations on improvements to work practices, plant, equipment, and maintenance programmes. Complete administrative duties, work records, and reporting using Council systems and mobile technology. Support emergency response activities and assist operational teams during severe weather or community events.
