Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Carpenter and Joiner to join our growing team. You will be responsible for manufacturing and installing high-quality kitchen cabinetry and custom joinery for residential and commercial projects. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your carpentry and joinery skills across workshop production and on-site installation while contributing to quality craftsmanship and customised kitchen solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
1.Review kitchen design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and cutting schedules to determine required materials, dimensions, component layouts, and installation requirements for kitchen cabinetry and custom joinery projects.
2.Select, prepare, and organise timber and other materials, arrange production components, and determine material requirements in accordance with project specifications and efficient material usage.
3.Accurately measure, cut, shape, and process materials using woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools, and join and fasten cut components to manufacture cabinetry, doors, panels, frames, and other joinery components.
4.Form timber joints and assemble prepared wood and joinery components into cabinetry, fixtures, fittings, and other custom joinery ready for installation, ensuring accurate dimensions, alignment, and quality workmanship.
5.Position, level, align, and securely install manufactured kitchen cabinetry, doors, panels, frames, and other custom joinery at residential and commercial sites in accordance with project requirements.
6.Install and adjust hinges, handles, drawer runners, locks, and other cabinetry hardware, and carry out modifications, rectification work, repairs, and maintenance to existing cabinetry and joinery.
7.Complete cabinetry and custom joinery using appropriate materials and finishing techniques to a high standard, while maintaining safe work practices and working closely with supervisors, project personnel, and clients in relation to workshop production and installation activities.
Qualifications and Skills
1.Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.
2.At least 2 years of relevant experience in carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, or a related trade.
3.Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and cutting lists.
4.Competent in using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
5.Strong practical skills in cabinetry and joinery work, with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
6.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
