We are excited to be opening a brand-new branch in Broken Hill and are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Foreman to take the lead in establishing and growing our workshop operations.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who wants to be involved from the beginning. You will play a key role in setting up the workshop, establishing processes, building a strong team and ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest standard.
Working predominantly with our extensive range of earthmoving and heavy equipment, you will oversee the day-to-day workshop operations while remaining hands-on with servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing the workshop

Establishing and maintaining effective workshop processes and procedures

Servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment

Coordinating equipment dispatch and returns

Managing workshop priorities and allocating work

Monitoring parts, tools and workshop stock

Liaising with clients and other Brooks Hire branches

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, safety and compliance

Supporting the growth and development of the new branch
What we're looking for:

Trade qualification in Heavy Duty Plant Mechanics (Essential)

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Plant Mechanic

Experience managing a team

Solid knowledge of Heavy Duty Equipment

Competence in routine maintenance procedures

Driver License, HR preferred

Forklift/High-risk work licenses desirable

Previous branch management experience desirable

Hands-on approach with sound computer skills

Excellent communication skills
-
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Ability to pass a Medical including a Drug & Alcohol test
