Disability Support Worker

We are seeking compassionate and experienced support workers with a strong background in assisting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and Autism to join our team on Brisbanes Southside S.I.L Houses in Macgregor and Coorparoo.

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or other relevant qualifications is preferred but not essential.
• Experience supporting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and/or Autism is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
• Ability to follow strict dietary protocols and manage food security for individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to participant-specific support plans.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check is required prior to commencement.
• Availability for a minimum of 23 shifts per week, including nights and sleepover shifts.
• Open drivers license and own transportation.

• Provide structured and routine-based support tailored to the specific needs of individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Autism.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs), with training provided as needed.
• Assist with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, and strict dietary management where required.
• Monitor and support sensory regulation needs for individuals with Autism.
• Facilitate community participation and engagement in safe and structured activities.
• Accurately document activities, progress notes, and incident reports in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other key stakeholders to ensure person-centred support.
• Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct at all times.
