The Opportunity

SEE Group is seeking an experienced Bulk Earthworks Site Supervisor to join our Urban Development team for projects across the greater Ipswich and Logan regions.
This is a full-time, permanent position supporting a diverse range of projects, including large-scale residential subdivisions, bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, roads and other associated civil construction work.

This is a diverse and fast-paced role responsible for managing, or assisting with the management of, day-to-day site activities to achieve safe, effective and cost-efficient project outcomes. You will work closely with project teams, employees, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with project requirements, approved programs and relevant standards.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production, support and delivery of projects in line with time, cost, quality, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate daily site activities in accordance with project programs.
  • Coordinate employees, subcontractors, plant, equipment and resources.
  • Provide advice, direction and support to project staff.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity and performance.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Support the development and implementation of project management plans and systems.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, risks and conflicting priorities.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety, health, quality and environmental responsibility.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Previous experience in urban development, subdivision, bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure or local government projects.
  • Demonstrated site supervision and project management experience.
  • Relevant “from the ground up” civil construction experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience coordinating bulk earthworks, plant, labour and subcontractor activities.
  • Exceptional individual and team leadership skills, with a willingness to coach and mentor leading hands, plant operators and labourers.
  • Ability to manage and achieve corporate, project and client objectives.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, reporting and analytical skills.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory, governance, safety and community requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver project management plans and systems.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong relationship management, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Commitment to developing and maintaining a culture where safety and health are prioritised above all else.
