Madson Mining Maintenance is a Mining Maintenance Contracting Company based in Port Hedland assisting our Clients in maintaining Ship Loading and Stock yard equipment and infrastructure. The bulk of our work consists of providing Shift Coverage / Back Fill Labour, Shut Down Crews, Fabrication and Welding, and Machining. Our main Client base is Pilbara Ports Authority, Fortescue Metals Group, BHP and QUBE, along with some smaller local companies.

With a workforce made up of Fitters, Boiler Maker Welders, Trade Assistants and Apprentices, currently we have 35 employees who either live here in Port Hedland or are employed on a FIFO basis.

We are currently looking for applications of interest for the following positions working in Port Hedland carrying out maintenance of Stock Yard and Ship Loading equipment:

  • Fixed Plant Fitter / Mechanical Fitter
  • Fitter & Turner / Machinist

The following long term opportunities are on offer:

  • FIFO -  12 days on / 9 days off  - ex. Perth
  • FIFO -  19 days on / 9 days off - ex. Perth
  • Port Hedland residential - Preferred

Your role will include:

  • Critical Inspections of Fixed Plant Mining Equipment
  • Working closely with clients to maintain plant/equipment
  • Maintenance/Diagnostics of plant/equipment
  • Project works
  • Shut Downs
  • Shift Cover/Backfill assistance

To be considered for one of the above opportunities, you will need to have:

  • Experience working on iron ore mine sites (or similar)
  • Relevant trade qualifications and a solid fixed plant mechanical background
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random drug and alcohol
  • Ability to pass pre-employment police check
  • Current High Risk licences including Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, EWP
  • Australian Citizenship / Residency with full working rights
  • A current WA Manual Drivers Licence
  • Availability to start within 3 weeks of applying
  • A strong work ethic and reliability
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • A good level of physical fitness (able to work 12 hours conducting strenuous activities)

An attractive casual hourly rate will be offered to the successful candidates ($72ph) based on experience.
