High Voltage Service Technician
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on HV LV switchgear and transformers.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical equipment including switchboards and motors.
- Develop and execute HV switching procedures and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

One of Australia’s largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of a High Voltage Electrical Technician with experience in maintaining, testing and servicing of High Voltage equipment.
You will need to demonstrate a strong background in the maintaining and testing of High Voltage equipment dealing largely with a Blue-Chip client base.
You will need to be able to perform your works across several different brands of equipment and have strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative and Reactive maintenance on HV LV switchgear, transformers, Switchboards, SCADA Systems and cables.
- Testing & Commissioning: Conduct primary/secondary injection, on Switchboards, Transformers, Motors, Generators, Capacitor Banks and protection relay testing.
- Switching Operations: Able to develop HV Switching Procedures and execute safe electrical isolations and high voltage switching and issue relevant permits.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow strict safety rules, complete risk assessments, and write service reports, developing of job specific JSA’s, SWMS and Safety documents.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Trade License: A-Grade Electrical Trade Qualification or equivalent.
- HV Certification: High Voltage Switching Operator certificate (current).
- Experience: Hands-on background working with industrial or utility HV/LV electrical assets.
- Skills: Ability to read single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Diagnostics: Thermography, Ultrasonic or any other condition monitoring certifications would be an advantage.

Remuneration and package will be developed depending on abilities and experience based on current Victorian ETU EBA conditions.
