Fixed Income Portfolio Manager

Our client is a leading global investment manager with a multi-billion-dollar Australian platform.

An opportunity exists for a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to join the investment team, with responsibility for portfolio implementation, trading, and optimisation across index-tracking fixed income strategies. The role will involve trading in the OTC bond market, portfolio construction and optimisation, participation in new issuances, and ongoing research into fixed income markets. The role covers the full suite of fixed income products, across rates and credit, including exposure to illiquid markets.

The position also has a strong client-facing component, including the preparation of published market commentary, monthly fixed income reports, and presentation materials, alongside participation in media interviews, webinars, and adviser education.

The ideal candidate will have fixed income trading and portfolio optimisation experience, strong quantitative skills, and proficiency in Python. Candidates from government bonds, rates or credit backgrounds will be considered, provided they demonstrate strong technical capabilities and transferable investment expertise. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to articulate market developments to clients and other stakeholders are essential.

This role is suitable for candidates with experience from 4-8 years in fixed income markets, ideally within an investment environment.
