Westvic Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Lake Colac School (Specialist School), have two opportunities available to join the team as an Education Support Trainee completing Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221).

Lake Colac School is the only specialist school in the regional area of the Colac district. They pride themselves on evidence-based practice in developing literacy, numeracy and work skills of their students in preparation for the most fulfilling life beyond school.

General Tasks Include:

• Providing routine support to teachers
• Supporting students within the specialist school environment
• Supporting students with their learning, routines and wellbeing
• Assisting with student supervision under the direction of a teacher
• Supporting students individually or in small groups, where appropriate
• Assisting with educational programs and student activities
• Supporting communication between teachers, parents and students
• Undertaking Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221)

Selection Process:

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview.

Following the interview, the preferred candidates will be required to complete a trial day at Lake Colac School prior to a final employment decision being made.

The trial day will provide the candidates with an opportunity to experience the school environment and demonstrate their suitability for the traineeship.
