About the Role

St Bernadette's School is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate 0.4 FTE Physical Education Teacher to join our vibrant and connected learning community. The successful applicant will inspire students from Reception to Year 6 to develop a love of physical activity, teamwork and healthy lifestyles through engaging, high-quality PE lessons and sporting opportunities.

Working within our Catholic and Dominican tradition, the successful candidate will contribute positively to the life of the school and support the wellbeing, growth and achievement of every student.

  • Demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver high-quality Physical Education programs for students from Reception to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and evaluate engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

  • Develop students' fundamental movement skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence.

  • Differentiate learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of all students.

  • Ensure safe and effective management of learning environments and sporting activities.

  • Assess, monitor and report on student achievement and participation.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to enhance student outcomes.

  • Coordinate and support school sporting events, including Sports Day, SAPSASA opportunities and other sporting initiatives.

  • Maintain effective communication with families regarding student learning and participation.

  • Contribute positively to the broader life of the school community.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
  • Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect certification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Physical Education across primary year levels.
  • Knowledge of contemporary teaching and assessment practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Education.
