Lead Payroll Operations for a Respected Canberra EmployerAre you an experienced Payroll Manager seeking your next leadership opportunity? This is an opportunity for a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll operations, ensuring pay cycles are delivered accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of Payroll Officers.
- Overseeing payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations.
- Managing payroll tax, superannuation and statutory obligations.
- Interpreting employment agreements and relevant industrial instruments.
- Resolving complex payroll enquiries and escalations.
- Managing payroll compliance and governance requirements.
- Developing strong relationships across finance, people and culture, and operational teams.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes and employee experience.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing payroll teams within a complex organisation.
- A sound understanding of awards, employment conditions and payroll governance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively in a changing and evolving environment.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and team leadership.
