Your new company
A well-established notforprofit organisation located in the heart of the Sydney CBD is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its close-knit finance team. Operating in a professional, service-driven environment, the organisation offers a supportive workplace and values accuracy, collaboration and high standards in its financial operations.

Your new role
Reporting to the senior finance leadership team and working within a small team, you will support the day-to-day finance function with a focus on accounts payable and receivable. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable inboxes and responding to queries.
  • Processing supplier invoices and preparing weekly payment runs.
  • Allocating payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Issuing invoices and statements and monitoring outstanding balances.
  • Following up on overdue accounts and supporting debtor management.
  • Assisting with month-end reporting processes.
  • Providing general administrative and financial support across the team.

    This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across transactional accounting in a busy environment.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable and receivable or a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage internal and external enquiries.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

    Experience in a hospitality or service-based environment will be advantageous but not essential.
