Underground Trainer
- Deliver underground inductions and training programs.

We are seeking an experienced Underground Trainer to join a leading underground gold mining operation on an 8:6 FIFO roster.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you will play a key role in developing the capability of the underground workforce through the delivery of training, assessments, coaching and mentoring programs. This position is responsible for ensuring employees are trained, competent and working in accordance with site procedures, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver underground inductions, training programs and competency assessments.
- Conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments across underground equipment and tasks.
- Coach and mentor operators to enhance skills, productivity and safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate training records and competency documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, operational and company training requirements.
- Identify skills gaps and contribute to workforce development initiatives.
- Assist in the development, review and continuous improvement of training materials.
- Support a strong safety culture through ongoing engagement with underground personnel and leadership teams.
- Monitor and report on workforce competency and training compliance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive underground mining experience and a passion for developing and mentoring others. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to engage personnel at all levels and drive positive training outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Extensive underground mining experience.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, equipment and safety practices.
- Demonstrated experience delivering training, coaching or mentoring within a mining environment.
- Current WA Class C Driver's Licence.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Previous Underground Shift Supervisor experience.
- Frontline Management qualification.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience using learning management systems and training databases.
