MHVP Pty Ltd is a family-owned mechanical business based in Moree, NSW, providing workshop-based and field service support across the Moree region and surrounding areas. As an authorised LiuGong and Morris dealer, we operate a diesel mechanical workshop servicing a broad range of agricultural, plant, civil and transport machinery. Our services include mechanical and diesel servicing and repairs, engine and component rebuilds, hydraulic repairs, onsite field servicing and breakdown support for machinery and heavy vehicles, including tractors, loaders, excavators, forklifts, trucks, headers, cotton pickers and equipment operating at pump sites. MHVP is also a registered HVAIS inspection station and provides reliable breakdown and mechanical support to customers across the agriculture and transport industries.
About the Role
MHVP Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Commercial Transport Mechanic to join its team. The successful candidate will diagnose, service and repair diesel-powered heavy vehicles and machinery, undertake preventative maintenance and component repairs, and ensure equipment complies with NHVR and HVAIS regulations.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and diesel engine faults in heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery and construction equipment, transport and trailer repairs.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and machinery.
- Repair and replace defective components including fuel, cooling, braking, steering and drivetrain components, engine and trailer.
- Inspect and repair hydraulic systems and associated components where required.
- Test and adjust repaired mechanical components and systems to ensure correct operation.
- Carry out engine component repairs and rebuilds in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop requirements.
- Use diagnostic equipment, tools and technical information to identify faults and determine appropriate repairs.
- Conduct operational checks following servicing and repairs to confirm equipment performance and safety.
- Attend field service and breakdown repairs when required to support machinery and heavy vehicles away from the workshop.
- Maintain accurate servicing and repair records and identify parts required for mechanical work.
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Heavy diesel mechanical servicing and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical, hydraulic and drivetrain systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and undertake servicing, repairs and component replacement.
- Ability to interpret technical information and use mechanical diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment or work solely.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
