Our Western Sydney hospital is growing from strength to strength, and we’re excited to welcome a new Ophthalmology Nurse to our dedicated team.

This is a 12-month Fixed-Term contract offering Part-time hours Tuesday to Thursday between 8am and 6pm.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Perform ophthalmic tests (intraocular pressure, tear production, electroretinography)
  • Assist during consultations, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries
  • Provide advanced anaesthetic monitoring (premedication, ventilation, neuromuscular blockade, recovery)
  • Carry out general nursing duties — blood collection, catheter placement, and patient care
  • Manage administrative and coordination tasks related to treatment and records
  • Support client communication: patient admissions, updates, and discharges
  • Collaborate closely with other specialist teams to ensure seamless patient care

About You

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, with at least 2 years’ experience as a qualified nurse
  • A genuine interest in Ophthalmology – experience is a bonus but not essential
  • Experience in general anaesthesia (desirable, not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Open, positive, and reflective communication style
