We are seeking an experienced Manager, Applications & Quality to lead the delivery, governance and continuous improvement of a diverse enterprise application portfolio within a South Australian public sector organisation.
This senior leadership position will oversee application lifecycle management, quality assurance, testing, release management and vendor performance, ensuring technology solutions remain secure, reliable and aligned with organisational priorities.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead specialist technical teams, drive operational excellence and contribute to broader ICT strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage enterprise application services, including development, maintenance, support and modernisation.
- Provide leadership, coaching and capability development across multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Establish and oversee quality assurance, testing strategies, automation frameworks and release management practices.
- Drive application governance, risk management, service performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage external vendors, service providers and contractual performance.
- Oversee production and non-production environments, ensuring system stability, security and service continuity.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
- Contribute to ICT strategic planning, technology investment decisions and digital transformation initiatives.
About You
You are an accomplished ICT leader with extensive experience managing enterprise applications, quality assurance and technical delivery teams.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience across enterprise application portfolios and multidisciplinary ICT teams.
- Strong expertise in application lifecycle management, software testing, quality assurance and release governance.
- Experience implementing test automation, DevOps practices and contemporary quality frameworks.
- Sound knowledge of application architecture, cloud technologies, system integration and IT service management.
- Demonstrated capability in ICT governance, risk management, compliance and vendor management.
- Experience delivering complex technology initiatives and driving application modernisation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and strategic decision-making skills.
Experience within government, regulated environments or digital transformation programs will be highly regarded.
