Traineeship - Geographe Leisure Centre
- Complete a 12-month traineeship at Geographe Leisure Centre while earning a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation (Aquatics) and related aquatic qualifications.
- Learn and assist with lifeguarding, swim teaching, pool supervision, water testing, plant operations and maintaining safe, clean aquatic areas.
- Provide customer service and help deliver leisure programs and events while completing on-the-job training and study.
- Commencing January 2027
- Full Time 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
- $47,286 - $56,451 + super (salary dependant on age)

Ready to dive into an exciting career in leisure services? The City of Busselton is looking for an enthusiastic Leisure Centre Trainee to join our team at the Geographe Leisure Centre for a 12 month Traineeship.
This is your chance to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification, including:
- Certificate III in Sport and Recreation (Aquatics)
- First Aid Certificate
- Pool Lifeguard Training
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety / Swim Australia Teacher Training
What you’ll be doing:
Under the guidance of our experienced Aquatics and Swim School Team Leaders, you’ll:
- Learn the ropes of lifeguarding, swim teaching, and aquatic safety.
- Assist with pool supervision, water testing, and plant operations.
- Deliver awesome customer service to our members and swim school families.
- Help plan and run leisure programs and events.
- Keep our aquatic areas sparkling clean and safe.
- Complete on-the-job training and study to achieve your qualifications.
What you’ll bring to the role:

- Commitment to training and study.
- Ability to work flexible hours Monday to Friday.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- A team player who loves helping people.
Pre-employment requirements:
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months).
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
- Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to meet pre-employment medical requirements
