AtomicEdu Consulting Services is recruiting on behalf of Sadar Bazaar, a retail destination in Craigieburn offering North Indian and South Asian groceries, fresh produce, frozen foods, homewares and household essentials.
We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to plan and manage daily retail operations, lead the store team and maintain high standards of customer service, stock availability and store presentation.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organise and oversee daily retail operations.
- Manage product ranges, purchasing and stock replenishment in consultation with business management.
- Monitor sales, operating expenses and stock performance, and implement improvements.
- Manage budgets and work towards agreed sales and profitability targets.
- Review pricing, promotions, product displays and seasonal merchandising.
- Coordinate supplier orders, deliveries and the timely availability of stock.
- Oversee stocktakes, investigate discrepancies and minimise wastage and stock losses.
- Maintain appropriate storage, stock rotation and expiry-date controls for groceries, fresh produce and frozen products.
- Recruit, train and supervise retail staff, prepare rosters and allocate duties.
- Set customer service standards and resolve enquiries and complaints.
- Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale procedures and daily reconciliation.
- Maintain workplace safety, store security and compliance with applicable food handling and retail requirements.
- Report store performance, staffing needs and operational issues to business management.
Skills and experience
- At least one year of relevant experience as a Store Manager, Retail Manager or in a closely related retail management role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and coordinating store operations.
- Sound knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, merchandising and sales reporting.
- Ability to manage costs, interpret sales results and meet business targets.
- Strong leadership, organisational and customer service skills.
- Experience using point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
- Supermarket, grocery or multi-category retail experience is desirable.
- Relevant retail or business management qualifications are desirable.
- Availability for rostered shifts, including weekends.
